Introducing the newly launched Yellow Front Door, an online homewares store which specialises in cushions. Based in Australia, the style is fresh and contemporary, perfect for the modern, urban home. At Yellow Front Door, we search the globe to find beautiful, functional, unique designer or artisan made products. We sell cushions from Australian, UK and US designers.
The Print Society is an Australian company and has fabulous and fun reversible cushions. There are different patterns on each side so you can easily change your colour scheme. You can buy their cushions in Neon Red and Lime and Emerald and Dust. They are hand screen-printed onto a beautiful 90% hemp/10% yak blend and come with an invisible zip along the bottom seam.
You can also buy cushions from Wales-based surface pattern designer Sian Elin. Her designs are all hand-drawn and colourful, and are influenced by Islamic and Moorish architecture. Moorish flair combines with Scandinavian design in a look that is truly individual. Her Peacocks, Tress Multi-colour, and Inlay in White and Blue cushions can be mix-and-matched on your sofa, chair, or bed for a modern and colourful room. Check out our very own interview with Sian to find out what inspires her: http://www.yellowfrontdoor.com.au/sian-elin-interview/
Jonathan Adler is an iconic US designer who is dedicated to bringing style, craft and positivity to the home. He has done a range for US fabric house Kravet which reflects his colourful approach to design. The designs feature modernist forms and bold geometric and abstract patterns. Yellow Front Door sells his Limitless in Linden Green and Limitless in Marine Blue cushions, a simple but stunning chevron design on beautiful quality linen. We also sell his Pots in Surf cushions, a fun yet sophisticated design in shades of blue, grey, soft aqua and a touch of tan on a creamy white background.
Yellow Front Door also sells soft, beautiful lambswool cushions from UK designers Gabrielle Vary and Sally Nencini. Gabrielle Vary’s love of pattern and colour is evident in her Citric Acid and Summer Time lambswool cushion covers, and she draws on childhood memories to inspire her creative designs. All her pieces are originals, and they are designed, knitted and finished by hand which makes each one unique. Sally Nencini designs are knitted in softest lambswool and are often inspired by nature and her love of vintage toys. Many are knitted in her home studio in South East London and the rest are knitted in Scotland. Check out her Big Tree, Little Bird, and Tapestry cushion covers.
The great thing about cushions is that they’re a fairly inexpensive and easy way to quickly update the look or style of your home. If you choose your colours well to go with other pieces in the room, they will instantly uplift and finish a room. Why not change your cushions with the season, choosing a range of mix-and-matched bright or light coloured cushions in linen or cotton for Spring and Summer. In winter you can replace them with soft and snuggly lambswool cushions to cosy up to. So go ahead and buy our cushions today!
